We are a community samba band originally based in Freshwater and Totland, Isle of Wight, U.K.We are always looking for new members of all abilities and ages!
Rehearsals
Rehearsals are on Mondays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm We have several new members and have run out of space at our venue in Totland. We will now be rehearsing at the Salvation Army Hall, 72 Pyle St, Newport, PO30 1UJOur band members ages are from 10 to 70+. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult throughout the rehearsal and at events.
You don't need to be able to read music, or own an instrument as we offer a full training programme in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and we can loan the appropriate Instrument throughout your membership.
Cost is £4-00 per adult member per rehearsal attended, under 18s £1-00,
The band is a non-profit making community band.
FaT Samba play all around the Island in numerous events and we are proud to support many charitable events.

We are a band with approx thirty members including three dancers, playing (loud) lively percussion tunes with a Samba influence.We play at :
Carnival processions and parades on the Island and on the mainland,
Village fetes and shows,
Community events,
Charity events,
Weddings, celebrations, parties.
We do interactive sessions at many of the events, where members of the audience are invited to have a go at playing a drum or a bell, and learn a simple groove.
